OPC - Events Notes

Scheduled activities may be cancelled due to an insufficient number of participants.
Participants/members must register for all hikes and trips at least three days prior to the date (leave a voicemail, call directly, e-mail etc.).
- We ask that you refrain from "showing up" at events without registration, for reasons of safety and proper planning.
In the event of severe weather or unforeseen problems, e.g., hike leader is ill, automobile breakdown etc., programs may be cancelled.
- Where possible, participants who have contacted us and registered will be notified of cancellations.
- Rarely, the hike leader will not be able to contact all participants due to a sudden problem, and it is hereby noted that if the leader is not present within 30 minutes past the meeting time, the program is cancelled.
- Participants may continue without the hike leader, but at their own risk.
All hiking participants should be in good physical health, having had a recent medical checkup, and doctor's clearance to pursue outdoor hiking.
- Participants attending overnight outings and adventures will be required to complete a medical form and waiver of liability.
- A five dollar fee for insurance/liabililty coverage per person, per hike applies to every program, unless it is part of a College or School Board hiking course.
Unless otherwise stated, meals and transportation are the responsibility of the individual particpants.
