Backcountry Backpacking Trip

A rugged, challenging wilderness backpacking trip where participants will overcome many obstacles along their way……including living out of a backpack for 5 to 7 days in remote backcountry.

The group will hike 10 to 15 kilometers per day, covering a variety of trail difficulties, and assorted ecosystems. Clients will navigate using topographical maps and silva compass, with assistance from GPS.

A respect for the natural environment, and fragility of our planet and it’s flora and fauna will be emphasized.

Activities Included:

  • point to point overland compass routes
  • advanced camping and backpacking techniques
  • environmental awareness and no trace impact
  • basic ecology and nature loring

Potential Routes:

  • Algonquin Provincial Park Western Uplands Trail
  • Hastings County (Bancroft-area) Ruby Lake Route, and Crystal Lake Route
  • Bruce Peninsula National Park, Bruce Trail System

Season Offered: mid-May to early November

Notes: this program requires an orientation/planning session, and a backpacking skills workshop, prior to the expedition.

Difficulty rating: medium to hard skills.

Suggested fee per client: $295.00 - $450.00
