Primitive Living Survival Adventure

Back to the land, back to basics of survival, primitive-style……clients will experience the lifestyle, hardships, and challenges faced by peoples prior to the 1800’s (native peoples, early explorers, pioneers, Voyageurs).

The group will “live off the land” as closely as possible, finding shelter, food, and implementing tools from nature’s bounty.

Activities Included:

  • primitive survival skills, including fire by friction, shelter construction, cordage and basketry, and foraging for food
  • navigational skills, including the sun-dial, watch method, and compass
  • historical and cultural awareness
  • environmental awareness
  • nature lore

Potential Routes:

  • Hastings County highlands crown lands
  • Lake Nipigon crown lands

Season Offered: summer, July – August

Notes: this program requires an orientation and skills workshop prior to the expedition

Difficulty rating: soft to medium skills

Suggested fee per client: $250.00 - $400.00
Suggested fees are “recovery fees” based on sponsorships, fund-raising initiatives, etc.
