Learn
to plan and carry out a backpacking trip into the remote wilderness.
Students will examine the choice of sites available to backpackers,
e.g., National and Provincial Parks, Crown Lands, Provinical/National/State/Club
Trail Systems etc. |
| Purpose: |
To
acquire lightweight camping and backpacking skills. |
| Topics: |
- trip
planning and logistics
- camping
gear selection
- proper
footwear and clothing considerations
- menus
and water supply, and,
- sample
trip routes.

| Duration: |
- 4
or 5 evening sessions, plus,
- one
weekend outing.

| Misc: |
The
objective of the course is to oversee the group through the implementation
of a wilderness backpacking trip. |
