Lesley Blackmore - Instructor

Lesley has enjoyed the outdoors since she was a child, discovering the wonders of tidal pools to hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing, camping, and canoeing, across Canada. She has refined these skills by attending the Humber College Outdoor Education program.
Lesley was Chair of the Hike Ontario Certification Committee and is a Certified Hike Leader. She has instructed with the Heart and Stroke Foundation, St John's Ambulance, and is trained in mental health first aid.
Having led numerous outdoor excursions that emphasize safety, eco-awareness, self-reliance, and the healing power of nature, Lesley co-ordinates our women-specific programs.
Lesley is a Wilderness FIrst-Aid Specialist, and the Executive Director of Turtlefeather True Nature, a federal non-profit organization that endeavours to introduce women who have experienced abuse, to the healing powers of nature.

Yuval Brodsky - Instructor

Having worked as a Forest Ranger, Yuval has an excellent understanding of natural systems, their functions, and how to use them to one’s advantage in any survival situation. Through his work as a Forest Firefighter and with the Canadian Coast Guard, Yuval has developed an excellent understanding of the Canadian Search and Rescue System, as well as established how to use it to one’s advantage to maximize the chances of being found when disabled in the wilderness. He is also highly trained in response to any wilderness rescue situation.
Yuval is currently working on an honours degree in Earth and Environmental Sciences at McMaster University, and is the Co-President of the McMaster Outdoor Club. He has lead a wide variety of activities and expeditions, including canoeing, survival, winter camping, backpacking, dog-sledding and more. Showing a keen interest in leadership, Yuval has developed leadership and group dynamics workshops, and enjoys running skills workshops such as GPS and map & compass.

Luis Costas
Field Aide

Luis is a Humber College Outdoor Ed graduate, a 'Hike Ontario' hike leader, and a winter camping specialist.

Karl Euler
Webmaster

Karl has participated in numerous WSC Programs and trips. He creates and maintains our website.

Connie Hammer

Connie completed her Outdoor Education Certificate at WSC and the Waterloo Region District School Board.
She has led numerous canoe trips, survival weekends and camps, and has instructed courses in map & compass navigation. In addition, she has managed numerous outdoor tradeshow displays.
Currently, Connie is also the Manager at our Marble Lake Lodge (www.marblelakelodge.com).

Ian McBain
Camp Leader
Ian has trained with the WSC and with Les Stroud, and is a star of season 2 "Survive This YTV"! He is a Wilderness Experience Camp Leader.
Bryan McKay
Assistant Instructor
Bryan has completed the Outdoor Education Certificate Program at Humber College, and is an enthusiastic outdoorsman!
Boris Milinkovich
Disaster Survival Instructor
Boris is a graduate of Humber College's Outdoor Education Certificate Program, with experience in the Canadian Armed Forces. He specializes in Survival - Disaster Preparedness Training.

Christopher Reid - Instructor

Chris has been with WSC since 2011, first as a student, and has since made his way up the ranks. He has a degree in Geography and is a teacher with the Niagara DSB where he currently runs the only secondary school outdoor ed program in the Niagara Peninsula. Carolinian and Boreal forests are his favourite settings, especially if he can snow-shoe in the winter. He is also a PADI Divemaster.

Zac Siegal
Field Aide

Zac, as a contestant, survived YTV's 'Survive This' ! He is a camp counselor and working on his pilot's licence.

Frank Simmons
Instructor

Frank instructs Wilderness Survival, Wilderness First Aid, and Crisis Management. He has assisted and instructed numerous wilderness courses, as well as St John's First Aid. He has been a search and rescue volunteer searcher and a Scout leader.

Wolf Starchild
Instructor / Affiliate

Wolf is well known for his Barefoot Hiking the Bruce Trail, end to end, as well as archery and survival instruction. He does numerous speaking appearances.

Ivo Tuma
Assistant Instructor

Ivo is a graduate of Conestoga College's WSC Survival School outdoor programs.
