My name is M___ T___.
I am a Gr. 12 student at the Toronto Waldorf School. If you recall,
I completed a two-week wilderness skills training (during the summer
of Grade 7--1998) at the Outdoor Pursuits Programme under your excellent
guidance.
I really enjoyed the 2
weeks I spent at the City of Vaughn facilities and the 3 day camping
trip at McCrae Lake. I believe that it was one of my greatest non-academic
accomplishments to date.
My experience has helped
me to improve my survival skills in the wilderness and as well has
benefitted me in a number of other areas. I would like to thank you
again for makingÊthis experience possible.
This is my last year of
high school and I have applied to the Schulich School of Business
at York University and I am required to submit a supplementary admission
form which must contain, in addition to other information, an account
of an accomplishment that I view as the most important to date in
my life. I have chosen my 2 week Outdoor Pursuits wilderness programme
for this account. Ever since I participated in this experience I have
made numerous treks into the great outdoors either through school
canoeing trips or personal visits to both provincial and national
parks. I feel that your training greatly assisted me in these experiences.
You also gave me a copy
of your survival book for my "excellence in the field". I would like
to remind you that my name was used in an article written by the Toronto
Star about the camping trip to MacCrae Lake. Here is the link:http://www.mccrae.siteaction.com/kids.html
Sincerely,
M.T.
